Alumni Meet of M.Ed Pass Outs (Department of Teacher Education , North Campus) at Gandhi Bhavan Main Campus - University of Kashmir

In its initiative to connect with the alumni, North Campus of the Kashmir University in collaboration with the Dean Students’ Welfare organized an alumni meet at the Gandhi Bhawan of Kashmir University.

The theme of the event was “Meet and Greet on the Eve of World Tourism Day for Peace” being celebrated across the world under the aegis of the United Nation. Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Prof.Nilofar Khan, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof.Shamim Ahmad Shah, registrar of the varsity, Prof. Nasir Iqbal and Director North Campus, Dr. Sheikh Gh Mohammad addressed the Campus alumni, faculty and other staff members on the occasion.

In his welcome address, director North Campus welcomed the dignitaries present on the occasion, the Campus faculty and the alumni. Dr. Sheikh Gh Mohammad highlighted the achievements of the Campus alumni and emphasised on a strong connect between the outgoing students and their alma mater.

He said, “ Our alumni are our ambassadors and their contributions to society would definitely bring laurels to the University.” He further emphasised on “ self-reliance and self-employability for the materialization of our dream of a self-reliant nation under the flagship of vixit Bharat.”

The Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof.Shamim Ahmad Shah, congratulated the North Campus fraternity for organising the alumni meet in the backdrop of the World Tourism Day for Peace. He emphasised on networking, collaboration, people to people contact and positive nexus among people for a peaceful and prosperous world.

He said, “ our alumni are our ambassadors and through them the University is connected with the world.” He further asserted, “ Kashmir is known for its tourism industry and it is our responsibility at the University to give a professional and scientific outlook to our students for a making our tourist industry vibrant and a means for peaceful and prosperous world.”

In his special address on the occasion, registrar of University, Prof. Nasir Iqbal, congratulated the North Campus for reaching out to its alumni. He expressed hope that North Campus would be a state of art centre of excellence and assured that all possible measures would be taken for enhancing the infrastructure and human resource at the Campus.

In her presidential remarks, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Nilofar Khan, congratulated the Campus administration for organizing the event in the backdrop of World Tourism Day for Peace. She said, “ By dint of our faculty and students’ hardwork, dedication and sincerity, our university has over the years emerged as an abode of excellance and knowledge; and, it is hoped that we will touch new heights in the coming days.” The vice chancellor affirmed her commitment to “ providing all material and non-material support to all the Campuses for their over-all development and growth.” She further stated that “ an event that connects the alumni of a University is surely a way to reach out to the world for a better feedback, ideas and exchange of thoughts.”

The inaugural ceremony was followed by a cultural event on traditional music performed by Department of Fine Arts and Music of the University.
