The Postgraduate Department of Computer Sciences at North Campus, University of Kashmir, has been fostering innovation and excellence since its inception in 2003, when it was established as a P.G. Center at Government Degree College, Baramulla. The department was then shifted to North Campus in year 2010. Our department is committed to empowering students with cutting-edge knowledge in computer science, equipping them with the technical expertise and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in the ever-evolving world of technology. Through a balanced focus on academic rigor and hands-on learning, we cultivate skilled professionals who excel in software engineering, data science, big data, and Image processing. Our goal is to shape individuals who contribute to driving technological advancements that positively impact society.

The Postgraduate Department of Computer Sciences at North Campus, University of Kashmir, envisions becoming a center of excellence in computer science education, research, and innovation, dedicated to producing highly skilled professionals capable of addressing real-world challenges and driving technological advancements. Our goal is to provide a dynamic learning environment that blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications, empowering students with expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, software engineering, image processing, big data, digital forensics, AIHSE while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and ethical responsibility. We are committed to promoting cutting-edge research, collaborating with industry leaders, and offering skill-based training to ensure our graduates possess industry-ready competencies. Infrastructure
The P.G Department of Computer Sciences is well equipped with three state-of art computer laboratories, two for PG students and one for research scholars. Around 70 computer systems (mostly ALL in ONE) are housed in the three labs. Besides the Department has a very good internet connectivity both LAN and Wi-Fi enabled. The Department has one latest Duplex Photostat machine for student services. The Department has a rich book collection of latest titles on Computer science and allied fields. The department also has Table Tennis installed in the department for student recreation.
